The Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH) is pleased to share the 2025 Annual Report!

The Coalition has grown substantially in the past year, and this report is a reflection of our ongoing committment to adapt and transform with our members and partners.

Preparing the Annual Report is a critical opportunity for the Coalition to reflect on our progress and map our way forward, and we are excited to present this synthesis of our results to our partners.

We also wish to thank all of our partners who contributed to this report in the form of case studies, forewards, photos and more, and thank you to all of our partners for your dedication and enthusiasm toward scaling soil health globally.

CA4SH was launched at the UN Food Systems Summit in 2021 and continues to grow, with over 300 members including government, NGOs, the private sector, research institutions, and youth-led organizations. The main goal of the Coalition is to improve soil health globally by addressing critical implementation, monitoring, policy, and public and private investment barriers that constrain the adoption and scaling of healthy soil practices. Central to this approach is experience and opportunity sharing, so on 8 and 9 September 2025, the CA4SH SteerCo and CA4SH Partners met to share updates and chart a way forward for the Coalition.

On 19 February 2025, more than 70 partners from across the CA4SH network attended the first partner meeting of 2025 to share progress made and the next steps for scaling global soil health. The CA4SH Steering Committee also convened this month to discuss the action areas identified in the partner meeting and strategized the way forward for the Coalition.

The following update provides key takeaways from the two meetings and outlines action points that partners can take to engage with the Coalition and scale soil health globally.

This month, the CA4SH SteerCo met for their third meeting since it’s inception, and the CA4SH Secretariat hosted the second Quarterly Partners Meeting of 2024. With the alignment of the six-month mark of the year, and these two important meetings for strategizing, collaborating, and sharing experiences, this is a great opportunity to reflect on where we are and where we are going for the rest of the year.

21 FEBRUARY 2024: The Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH) Steering Committee met to discuss actions and foci for the coming year.

Moving forward, CA4SH is committed to keeping soil health in the agenda, scaling it to other arenas (e.g., UNCBD, UNFSS), and further articulating its presence, while moving forward through implementation on the ground and resource mobilization.

On the 18th and 25th of October 2023, the CA4SH Soil Health Steering Committee met virtually to discuss the remit of the Committee and the future directions of the Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH).
