From Arid to Arable: Drought Resilience and Sustainable Water Use

Drought is one of the costliest and deadliest hazards worldwide, projected to affect 3 in 4 people globally by 2050. But unlike disasters like earthquakes, drought prevention and resilience strategies can reduce its impact on land and livelihoods.

We begin at Water. Strengthening water security and using water more sustainably can alleviate pressure on communities already at risk. Join the dialogue to explore the challenges we face and solutions that help address them. Everyone is welcome.

Speakers:

• Dr. Birguy Lamizana Diallo: UNCCD Chief of Global Policy, Advocacy and Regional Cooperation, Broad-Based Development Professional, IUCN Emeritus Member

• Garvita Gulhati: Founder of Why Waste?, Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia-Pacific Social Entrepreneur, Global Changemaker, Water Conservationist

• Munnir Adams (Co-host): Founder of Clime With Me and Communications Assistant at UrbanBetter. Climate Storyteller and Education Activist
