In 2024, the Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH) launched the #Youth4Soil Initiative, including a mentorship component which sought to connect young people with established professionals as mentors in the soil health space.

The original call received more than 200 applications (84% mentee applications) and was initially structured as an open-ended and openly structured programme. The CA4SH Secretariat has now reviewed the strategy and is re-launching the programme as a semi-structured and time-bound programme to inease engagement. The initiative will now be operated on an annual basis, culminating in a learning webinar and awarding of certificates of completion for successful participants.
