Event Background
The Youth4Soil Solution Showcase is a dynamic platform celebrating the power of youth to drive transformative change in soil health and sustainable land use. This activity emerged from the growing recognition that restoring our planet starts from the ground up, literally and metaphorically, and that young people are not just participants but frontline innovators in this mission.
This platform will spotlight youth who use soil data to drive action. The #Youth4Soil working group hosted four virtual soil solutions showcases in 2025: From winning with worms in Nepal to restoring a childhood forest in Kenya, these showcases have provided a platform for #Youth4Soil members to exhibit the soil health solutions they are implementing and fostered interaction among key stakeholders to grow those solutions. The showcase gathers youth-led solutions, grassroots initiatives, and storytelling that embody the energy, creativity, and commitment of young changemakers. These efforts reflect an understanding that healthy soil is central to food security, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods, and that youth have the passion and perspective to lead this charge.

Objectives
Exhibit Youth Action: Foster meaningful connections between youth‑led interventions in soil health. Showcase inspiring stories and initiatives led by young advocates, demonstrating their pivotal role in advancing soil health and climate resilience, while encouraging the exchange of best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches.
Celebrate Young Farmers and Pastoralists: Elevate the contributions of young women farmers and pastoralists, with particular emphasis on young women, by recognizing their leadership in restoration. Highlight their innovations and resilience strategies.
Launch the Youth‑Led Soil Data Brief: Officially introduce the Youth‑Led Soil Data Brief titled: “What can You(th) do with Soil Data?” as a flagship knowledge product. Position it as a tool for advocacy and action ensuring youth perspectives on soil data are integrated into practice and decision‑making processes.
Grow the Network of Soil Health Advocates: Expand and strengthen the community of passionate soil health advocates by providing a dynamic platform for networking, peer learning, and collaboration.
Purpose
The #Youth4Soil Manifesto and Manifesto Implementation guide launched at UNCCD COP17 highlights several avenues for youth to meaningfully engage and get involved in scaling soil health, including Awareness Raising, Innovation & Technology, Policy Advocacy, Community Engagement, Education and Science & Research among others.
In light of this, the #Youth4Soil Solutions Showcase Webinar series serves as a vital platform to amplify youth voices, attract potential donors, and increase visibility for impactful soil health initiatives. By promoting collaboration, showcasing successes, and encouraging innovative solutions, this webinar aims to create a robust network of young soil health advocates dedicated to driving positive environmental and social change.
