Monitoring in the Great Green Wall: From reporting to learning & adaptive management

Monitoring is often viewed as a reporting requirement. Yet in reality, it is one of the most powerful tools available for learning, decision-making, adaptive management and improving restoration outcomes.

Across the Great Green Wall, governments, development partners, researchers, NGOs and communities are generating increasing amounts of data. However, monitoring systems remain fragmented, making it difficult to connect information, learn across initiatives and demonstrate impact at scale.

At the same time, advances in Earth observation, remote sensing, citizen science and digital technologies are opening new opportunities to better understand restoration progress and support more informed action.

Join us for the next K4GGWA Cross-Learning Webinar as we explore how monitoring can move beyond reporting to become a shared system for learning, collaboration, adaptive management and resilience-building across the Great Green Wall.
