EU Mission Soil Week Event Material

About

The European Mission Soil Week is an annual event aimed at promoting the Mission Soil, raising awareness about the importance of soil health, and driving action to protect and restore our soils.

By bringing together experts, researchers, policymakers, land users and the public, the event serves as a platform to get informed about the latest research results on soil health and discuss important topics related to the major challenges regarding soil health. These may include innovative approaches for sustainable soil management, soil conservation techniques, soil remediation strategies, new business models (e.g. carbon farming) and the need for regulation.

The November 2023 event had particular importance in the context of the European Soil Monitoring Law. The proposal for a directive was launched on July 5th 2023 to ensure healthy soils by 2050 in close connection with the Mission Soil.
